Ten films have been selected to take part in the Sundance Institute’s inaugural cultural exchange program, FILM FORWARD: Advancing Cultural Dialogue initiative and one of them is Taika Waititi’s BOY.
I think this video explains best the whole idea of the program:
Film Forward’s centerpiece was a gala showcase of all ten films screened simultaneously in the National Mall in Washington, D.C. on 12th May, presented in collaboration with the Smithsonian Associates.
Naturally, Taika was there, too.

That explains, why he is now in Michigan and then is travelling to New Mexico. Check out the Coming Events menu to see if he’s not around your place in the near future. You can also follow @FilmForward on Twitter with Peter Bratt and Taika guest tweeting from that account at the moment.
The entire program concludes in September.
