Indigenous Cinema at Berlinale and Taika to judge First Feature

Starting this year, the 2013 Berlin Festival is hosting a huge retrospective show dedicated to the cinematic storytelling of Indigenous peoples, “NATIVe – A Journey into Indigenous Cinema”. In its first year, the series will begin with a territorial focus on films from Oceania, Australia, North America and the Arctic. The program was revealed last week and it includes Taika’s BOY and Two Cars, One Night and Turangawaewae – A Place to Stand by Peter Burger with a glimpse of Taika in it.

There is more Taika at Berlinale we can look forward to. He is announced as one of three judges who`ll decide the winner of Berlin`s First Feature Award, for which 27 features will compete. (source: The Hollywood Reporter)
