Taika’s films make a career in diplomacy

Three films directed by Taika Waititi are in a catalogue of 23 New Zealand feature and short films available for overseas screenings organised by New Zealand’s diplomatic posts abroad. The catalogue has been launched by The Ministry for Culture & Heritage, in partnership with the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tourism New Zealand, New Zealand Trade and Enterprise and the New Zealand Film Commission. The showcase is funded by the Government’s Cultural Diplomacy Programme, which invests in the promotion of New Zealand culture overseas.

Arts, Culture and Heritage Minister Christopher Finlayson said, “With the addition of new films to the catalogue every year, it will become a valuable cultural diplomacy tool and provide an opportunity to display the talent we have.”

These film are:
Eagle vs. Shark
Two cars, One Night
Tama Tu
