What’s Taika got to do with The Inbetweeners?

He’s got a lot!

But first, what’s The Inbetweeners? If you haven’t heard of this British sitcom, shame on you!

It was written by Damon Beesley and Iain Morris and the show follows the life of suburban teenager Will and three of his friends at the fictional Rudge Park Comprehensive.

The show has been nominated for Best Situation Comedy at BAFTA twice, in 2009 and 2010. At the British Academy Television Awards 2010, it won the Audience Award.

The additional bonus is that the writers of this show are great fans of Flight of the Conchords and they wrote two episodes of their TV series Flight of the Conchords, “The Actor” and “Unnatural Love”.

Now back to Taika.

MTV has assembled the quartet of leads for its US remake, which was greenlighted to pilot in September and Taika Waititi is set to direct the pilot, which is slated to begin production on January 10 in Orlando. (source)

AWESOME, HUH?!
