Tonight, the 2011 Aotearoa Film and Television Awards (former Qantas Film and Television Awards) were presented and Madeleine Sami won best actress for her TV show, Super City (directed by Taika).
Congrats! Excellent job, lady!
And for those of you who has been wondering what Taika is doing in the UK, I think I found the answer:
Taika Waititi directs a Cadbury-funded short to support UK athletes in the (loooong) run-up to the London 2012 Olympics. And a damn fine job of it he does too.
