With a cast that includes comedy faves like Kate Micucci, Mark McKinney, Dan Harmon, Brian Posehn, and Maria Bamford (to name just a few), how could we not be stoked for Seven Stages To Achieve Eternal Bliss? We’re thrilled to debut the exclusive trailer and poster for the upcoming “cult cult comedy” from MarVista Entertainment, director Vivieno Caldinelli and Company X, the new banner from our pals at SpectreVision—the folks behind Color Out of Space, Mandy, and Daniel Isn’t Real. Join the cult below:
Seven Stages stars Sam Huntington and Kate Micucci as a couple who think they’ve hit the jackpot when they find a cheap (and nice!) apartment in L.A. Unfortunately, there’s a problem: The apartment was previously inhabited by a cult leader (Taika Waititi, playing himself??) who took his own life in the bathtub—and now his followers are breaking in, one at a time, to follow him into the afterlife via the couple’s bathtub. Further complicating matters is an eccentric LAPD detective (Harmon) who’s investigating the suicides while trying to sell a screenplay based on his life (because of course).
The cast also includes Josh Brener, Rhea Seehorn, Dana Gould, Lilian Bowden, John Dore, Mindy Sterling, J Lee, Brian Girard, Michael St. Michaels, and Matt Jones. Seven Stages will begin screening in select cities and theaters on March 6 ahead of its digital release on March 17.
